Ohhh how lovely to see that the Robot Dad card has been featured on another fab blog!!
Clover Jewels - New Beginnings
It is a feature to spotlight some Folksy Stores that have less than 5 sales so far, and there are some really nice items featured from some very talented crafters, I'm hoping they all get the good sales figures
So a big thank you to Clover Jewels for taking the time to help everyone, it's is very much appreciated :-)
I designed and handcrafted a Robot Dad easel card that would be suitable for either Father's Day or Dad's Birthday, using one of the chipboard robot and cog elements from the 'Lil Robots' range by 'My Minds Eye'
I also used some embossed silver mirri card and a real metal frame to keep the metallic theme, and hand stamped the word 'DAD' inside the frame in a blue ink
I was extra pleased to see it had been included on the Uniquely Yours Blog today!!
What a nice surprise to find out one of my Gorjuss Girl Easel Cards is being featured on a Blog this morning!!

This is a great Blog 'Uniquely Yours' and has lots and lots of really interesting items, you can while away a few hours just looking at all the lovely things, the write-ups and lovely verses :-)
Well there's a first time for everything as they say, and today i finally got around to putting a card in my Folksy Store!!
Totally new to this, but hopefully my little Gorjuss Girl won't be lonely for long.
I decided one of the little Gorjuss Girl mini easel cards would be a good card to start with, Although each one is totally unique, they always seem to be popular
So here's 'I love you little rabbit'
I do hope she goes to a very good home

I used good quality cardstock from Craftwork Cards to form the Easel Card base, 'Elegant Rectangles' in 'Ionised' colour
The designer papers and decoupage are from the Gorjuss Girls range by 'Santoro'
I used punches to create the decorative border and also the rosette flower that supports the card when it is standing in it's easel format
**edit** seems my little gorjuss gal and her bunny sold whilst i was still editing the photos!! **
Mum and Dad's Wedding Anniversary is coming up and I wanted to make them something a little different to the usual cards. I know they quite like the Art Deco theme and I had some papers and images from Debbi Moore Designs that I thought might be suitable but didn't want to make an Easel Card this time. Then a little inspiration in the form of some template shapes that would echo the Art Deco Fan style and it flowed from there.
I knew the card would be quite heavy with all the card and paper layers creating the fan effect and the foam pads and needed to find a way to support the card whilst not detracting from the crisp edges of the fan shape. I thought a tube shape would work as a support at the back and eventually settled on a diamond shape that would fold flat and allow the card to fit into an envelope or box.
a couple of close ups
products used:
Debbi Moore Designs - Art Deco Images, sentiment, and decorative papers
Craftwork Cards - Silver Card Candy
Pearlescent ivory paper, white cardstock, foam pads, grey sheer ribbon, silver flexible peel-offs
I loved the Vintage Rose papers from Craftwork Cards and thought they would go very well for Mother's Day cards.
I had an idea to try pinwheel flowers, I've seen them a few times and they always look really good, so thought I'd have a go myself and combined it with a Twisted Easel, so this is a first time attempt at both these.
Using white 6" x 6" scalloped white square cards as a base, I covered them with the dotty pattern papers from the Vintage Rose collection. I made the large Pinwheel flower from the stripey floral papers and added diecut centres to my flowers and of course some Card Candy.
I created stems and leaves from the green striped paper, folding the leaves in half to give dimension. I then added a die cut butterfly cut from another of the floral papers in the collection, diamantes, sentiment and ribbon to finish off
I was quite pleased with how the experiment turned out and the designs could be adapted for birthdays, etc too
I was so pleased when Craftwork Cards featured my cards on their own Blog!!

Yes it's been a long time since I blogged
Lots of things have been going on in my life and being made redundant after 26 years and being ill sort of made me lose my creativity
I'm only just starting to feel able to maybe craft again and so hopefully I'll be back to updating my blog with lots of pics and stuff
I'm sure it will help me get through :-)
I love making cards for family and friends and also just because...... :-D
